“Music is everywhere, you just have to have the ears to hear it.” – John Cage

...to spark joy!
The Cape Town Camerata is driven by a shared passion for making music that sparks joy. We rehearse for two hours twice a week, striving to bring our best to every performance. Between rehearsals, each singer takes personal responsibility for learning and refining their music.
Some members travel long distances to be here, a reflection of the commitment and connection that bind the choir together like a family.
Every rehearsal ends with a sense of gratitude and shared joy — the kind that comes from creating something beautiful together.
An interesting feature of CTC’s structure is that each voice group takes responsibility for matters such as attendance and quality control within their section. This shared ownership fosters accountability and trust across the choir, enabling our conductor, Leon Starker, to focus fully on shaping the music
The diversity of ages, professions, and cultural backgrounds adds a unique vibrancy to the choir’s sound and spirit. CTC is, quite simply, a happy place.
