a little about us..

The Cape Town Youth Choir was founded in 1997 with the name Pro Cantu (meaning “for singing”). When we moved from Durbanville (a suburb of Cape Town) to the city center in 2011 we changed our name to “Cape Town Youth Choir”.

We’ve toured South Africa, Europe, Asia and the US, we’ve won gold in competitions and we’ve sung in fantastic venues! We love singing simple folks songs as well as challenging modern pieces. Our members are younger than 30 and (usually) older than 16 and come from all walks of life.
